March Beauty Favourites

I’m currently enjoying a more toned down, natural look for the onset of Spring consisting of light pink tones and plenty of luminosity. Illuminating primers and highlighters are key to achieving a fresh glow. Who doesn’t want to resemble a dewy spring flower petal, right?

Here are some of my favourite products that are perfect for achieving a minimal Spring/Summer look, inspired by the above example by Chanel:

1) Le Blanc de Chanel – Debenhams, £33

I have experimented with a few illuminating primers but this is the first I’ve tried that makes a noticeable difference to my skin. I like to mix a couple of drops with my foundation rather than applying it as a base beforehand. It gives a beautiful pearlescent finish and instantly brightens up a tired complexion. It’s one of the easiest ways of achieving perfectly highlighted features as it requires so little effort. Definitely worth the price tag!

2) MAC lipstick in Pink Plaid – Debenhams, £15.50

The MAC lipstick counter is one of the most tempting sights I know of. Closely followed by Zac Efron topless a double chocolate cheesecake. As my mum put it, ‘it’s like sweet shopping for grown ups!’ After much perusing, I decided upon this shade. Pink Plaid adds a subtle, candy-coloured pop to your lips and is a great transitional shade for Spring/Summer.

3) Soap and Glory ‘Supercat’ eyeliner – Boots, £6

By far my favourite drugstore eyeliner. It is yet to dry up on me, which is what’s happened with many cheaper pen eyeliners I’ve bought in the past. It has a fine tip for super precise application, ideal for both a subtle or dramatic flick.

4) Bobbi Brown pot rouge for lips and cheeks – Debenhams, £19.50

Cream blushers are great for achieving a really soft, airbrushed finish to your cheeks. Powder blushers can have a tendency to look cakey if you have dry or acne-prone skin, so I’m a big fan of the moisturizing quality of these Bobbi Brown ‘pot rouges’. They can be used for both cheeks and lips which is ideal for creating the perfect natural look. My favourite shades are ‘Fresh Melon’ and ‘Powder Pink’.

5) Bobbi Brown long-wear cream shadow in ‘Ballet Pink’ – bobbibrown.co.uk, £19

To continue the cream theme, these cream shadows by Bobbi Brown are as effortless as they are striking. Simply dab on with your fingers to achieve an instant shimmery sheen. The shade ‘ballet pink’ really brings the fresh, glowy look together.

6) Benefit ‘High Beam’ highlighter – Debenhams, £19.50

A failsafe highlighter I will come back to time and time again. This satiny pink liquid gives a radiant finish to cheekbones, brow bones, the bridge of your nose and wherever else you want to draw attention to.
